Progress we have made progress

Hola my loyal 5 readers,

We have made wedding progress since Sunday. The invitations have been ordered. The Man and I picked out a cake topper (thank you little sister of the Scrapbook Girl) and we are going to order the bookmarkers this weekend.

I love progress.

Of course we are not going to look at dresses this Thursday since I have to be at an open house for work that night. Oh did I mention I have jury duty that day too?

Joy

Love you guys

Wedding Weekend

This weekend was a wedding weekend. My mom and I got our hair cut on Saturday. I got three inches cut off and I think I am going to color my hair next time. Damn those gray hairs! I also got my eyebrow mowed so that was nice. After our hair we went to order my mom's dress for the wedding. Its really pretty and I helped pick it out so its not old lady"ish". Then we went to a wedding store on the east side. I was looking for a veil, cake topper, unity candle, guest book and pen. I bought the unity candle, guest book and pen. I made some fast decisions and The Man liked what I bought so all was good:-)
Mom bought my veil and the lace on the edge of veil is an almost perfect match to lace on my wedding dress sleeves. HOT DAMN! Its a beautiful veil and its perfect. PERFECT I tell you!! Oh and I got my ring out of layaway. Yeah I know Scrapbook Girl, I put it in before the holidays but whatever its mine NOW! It took me awhile to get it out of hock and the sad thing is: it wasn't because of money. Time got away from me.
On Sunday my aunt, uncle, mom and me went to a craft store by Ohio. I got the stuff for the table centerpieces and other wedding "stuff". It was a good weekend:-D

Oh I also got some stuff for our programs.

School is going well and I think we are going to have a snow day on Wednesday. I brought work home with me so I won't feel guilty if I stay home. Yeah I am boring. Happy but boring.

9 Months People NINE. MONTHS.

I meant to post this yesterday but I started reading a new blog and following links to different links and well 4 hours later I had a sore neck. I also have four new blogs that I am going to follow. 2 of them are written by chicks who are getting married this year and one of them is written by a chick that got married last year to a guy 20 years her senior. Very cool. Anyhoo.....

Yesterday was January 6. I am getting married on October 6. Yesterday was exactly 9 months until my wedding. The Man was making fun of me all day because I kept mentioning it and looking at my watch to tell him what will be happening at that time in NINE MONTHS. Yes I am aware of the fact that I am a dork. Wanna know what else I did that was dorky?

I called my dad in Mexico to tell him my wedding is exactly NINE MONTHS. He answered the phone and I totally threw him because I said "Hi Dad" in English. When he recovered and stopped laughing because he didn't know who it was for a second...who the hell else calls him dad? Something I don't know about him??? LOL. I told him that my wedding is NINE MONTHS from today. He said he knew that because he knows how to read his calender and the stepmonster told him that morning. Hmmm I didn't know she would care to be that dorky about my wedding.

******I have issues with my stepmonster. Just ask the Scrapbook Girl about her and buy a her a cup of Starbucks and she will talk your ear off since she has first hand witnessed the drama.********

Back to my original point...I asked my dad if he has gone shopping for the stuff on his list. He had and they went to 7 or 8 different stores. He had to buy the coins, the crown and the lasso. Now, a couple of things about my Stinky. He is a great dad however in my family at least (If The Cousin is reading this she totally understands because this includes her dad) the men have no problem paying for things and being a part of the actual event. The planning and the leg work leading up to the event normally falls on the women. If they do have to actually go and purchase something themselves they go to one store, get what they need and leave. The end. No muss, no fuss. Stinky said they went to multiple stores because he didn't like what he saw and he wanted to compare selections and whatnot. That surprised me and made me happy that he took that much time to pick those things out for my wedding. I asked if he almost cried and he said "yep" So whatever they got will be perfect and I will be proud to wear it on my wedding day....which is NINE MONTHS away.

I also called the Ohio Momma and she was at work. So I got to talk to Lil Bro (The Man has two brothers and that is the youngest) he is very funny and very cute and very talented. Anyhoo I told him and yeah he is 17 so he said "you going to do it?" I said yep 'cause I want to see him in a tux. He said he figured that. Oye.

School starts this week. YAY!

Love you all

Dear Lord, I am really getting married

My mom and I went shopping on Saturday for wedding gowns.

Holy Mother Mary I have a WEDDING DRESS!!!!

Its Beautiful!
My mom always had this thing that she only wanted me and her to go shopping for my dress. No one else, no bridesmaids or anyone. So Saturday was the day:-)

We walked in Eva's Bridal store and I asked the sales lady if she had these certain style of dresses and out of the eight she had ZERO. She asked what was so special about that particular designer that I HAD to have one of her dresses. I told she carried dresses with sleeves. She was all "Well we have dresses with sleeves" and she started taking dresses off the rack. I went looking and I found some too. My mom doesn't move too well with her cane so she was walking really slowly just looking at the dresses trying not cry. I walked by her to tell her that I was going to start trying on dresses and she handed me one and said "Here add this one to your hook" I just tossed it up on my dress hook as I went pass it on my way to grab a room with a chair.

We had a small fitting room which was so funny. I don't do well in small fitting rooms in the best of times when I am trying on a sweater or something let alone a HUGE dress with my mom sitting in the corner. First of all, I had trouble getting the first dress out of the bag it was heavy and long. I had to kind of toss it over my shoulder and back away from the bag to get it out. Then I tried to put it on without unzipping it all the way. See not so smart sometimes. Anyway that dress was OK not great. I hate those sleeves that go over the top of your hand. I know it would just bug me all day that something was on my hand. Also I don't have really long elegant hands so it wouldn't look right anyway. The sales lady laughed at me because I was having trouble getting the dress off. She just whipped it over my head and slipped it on the hanger like it was a t-shirt. I knocked off my mom's glasses and bopped her across the head trying to get my big melon through the dress, waving my arms like a fool and she made it look so simple. As I emerged from the netting and miles of dress material I noticed that the curtain was open and I was standing there in pink panties and a white bra. Oh well, at least they were clean and my legs were shaved. The second dress was better but mom didn't like it since it had short sleeves. The third dress was not so cool either. I am short waisted so the waist part was right under my boobies and it looked odd

The fourth dress. That was the magic dress.

It went on very easy and I looked down and then I looked in the mirror then I said "this is my dress". My mom was crying and she said I looked beautiful.

That was the dress she picked.
